With guitar and mandolin in hand, Lindsay May has toured all across North America, from New Jersey to her native British Columbia, with additional stops in Germany and the Netherlands. Her powerful voice has been described as a mix of k.d. lang, Kathleen Edwards, Alison Krauss, Lucinda Williams, Linda Rondstadt, and Janis Joplin.
She is also a prolific songwriter who started writing and performing her own material while still in her teens. Her most recent songs tell stories of strong, empowered, persevering women — qualities she had to find in herself when she left her steady career as a corporate executive to enter full-time into the notoriously insecure music business. The title of her most recent album, “Girl with Grit,” is an apt description of Lindsay herself.
“Equipped with an engaging stage presence and a sincere gift for gab, she’s also blessed with a larger-than-life voice and the enthusiasm to drive it home, commanding complete attention.”

“With her unique phrasing and distinctive smoky tone, she doesn’t emulate any singer of today. Lindsay is one of a kind.”
