Two of our favorite musicians, Jeff Barnhart (on the “ivories”) and Anne Barnhart (with her golden flute), known jointly as Ivory & Gold, are returning for their third Rose Avenue appearance. Their repertoire includes pretty much every type of popular music heard in the 20th century — and perhaps even some from the 21st.
Jeff began his professional career at age 14, performing throughout New England at jazz clubs and restaurants, and eventually becoming a highly regarded arranger, bandleader, recording artist, composer, and teacher. Anne, who is classically trained and holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music, is known for her impeccable tone and phrasing. Their seemingly effortlessness performing style and easygoing banter complement serious musicianship that renowned American performer and historian Max Morath has called “musically flawless.”
From their base in the seaside town of Mystic, Connecticut, they maintain a hectic schedule of concert and festival appearances, entertaining audiences with music, historical anecdotes, and humor.
“A perfect balance of musical selections, impeccable taste and masterful performances.”
